Imported seaweed baths--only the best for my babies!  Well--yes and no.  Anyone with eczema knows that you get to a point where you try ANYTHING.  Aalgo Extra Fine Seaweed Powder comes well recommended.  I felt it was worth a shot, even for the price (a whopping $79 with shipping!).

Juice: Carrot juice diluted with water, about 1/2 and 1/2.  It was still really sweet! About 1/3 cup for everyone.

This recipe makes about 1 cup.

1/4 cup soaked nuts or seeds of your choice (we used walnuts)

Garlic, 1 large clove coarsely chopped

Very satisfying to a 3 1/2 year old and 16 month old--and , actually, a 32 year old-- on a hot summer day.


1 butternut squash
stock of your choice
3-5 Tblsp ghee
3 egg yolks

Boil the squash in the stock.  When done (almost falling apart), remove from stock and cool.  Add ghee and egg yolks. Blend (I used an immersion blender). Butternut squash and/or carrots
Bone broth



Boil butternut squash and/or carrots in bone broth. With a slotted spoon, remove the vegetable. Purée.  Add an amount of broth back into the puréed vegetable to make it pourable.  Pour into small bowls or ramekins. Refrigerate. Bone broth
Ghee, slightly softened

Boil carrot coins in bone broth for 30 minutes or until cooked through.  Let cool completely.  When cool, spread ghee on top. Makes one sandwich.

2 Non-Nut Butter Pancakes
1 avocado
1 tsp shredded fermented vegetable, or as much as can be tolerated
Celtic sea salt

Put fruit from avocado in a bowl.  Sprinkle salt to taste.  Mash avocado and salt together with a fork, making a salt/avocado-only guacamole. 6 eggs

1 med/large clove garlic, pressed

Celtic Sea Salt

ghee for frying


Peel and de-seed zucchini.  Grate (push through food processor with grating blade) the zucchini.  Transfer to large mixing bowl.  Add all other ingredients and mix. Heat pan on stove, add ghee. I must preface these recipes by saying that--yes, they do work and I use them day in a day out.  However--natural cleaning products DO NOT work like commercial detergents.  Commercial detergents are more aggressive on stains, grease, and even keep things (like tubs) cleaner for longer.  It has to do with the make up of the detergent and the surfacants used. In a food processor, blend zucchini.  Add the rest of the ingredients and blend well. Heat a fry pan and add ghee. Pour enough batter in the pan to make pancakes a little larger than 'silver dollar' pancake size.

Using Dried Mint:Harvest or purchase fresh mint.  Lay the mint on a tray and put the tray in the oven with the oven light on.  Let sit for 4-6 hours, or until the mint is crisp, but not fragile (in other words, doesn't fall to pieces when pinched but is dry and 'crisp').

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Beef Soup

Full fat, hugely gelatinous beef broth
1 lb beef
2 med zucchini
1 med onion
2 cloves garlic
4 carrots
Celtic Sea Salt
Ghee

We are doing what we can and we our nourishing ourselves 1000 times better than we would be eating non-GAPS, or even eating Full GAPS. I'm very proud of us.

We did not push the raw egg yolks--my fault.
